L-asparaginase
How it works
Depletes the amino acid asparagine, which is necessary for cancer cell growth, and also has immunomodulatory effects.

In clinical trials, around 90% of patients with ALL achieved a complete remission with l-asparaginase-based therapy.
Side effects
Severe
This treatment carries a higher risk of serious side effects. Close medical monitoring is required throughout treatment.
